These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the AlarmNest mobile application ("App"), developed and operated by BitMask LLP ("BitMask", "Company", "we", "us", or "our"). Please read these Terms carefully before downloading, installing, or using the App.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using AlarmNest, you ("User" or "you") agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you must not install or use the App.
Your use of the App is also subject to our general BitMask Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
2. Description of Service
AlarmNest is a feature-rich smart alarm clock, timer, and location-based reminder application for Android. Core functionality includes:
- Time-Based Alarms & Timers: One-time alarms, quick countdown timers, and recurring schedules (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly).
- Wake-Up Challenges: Interactive puzzle challenges (including Easy, Medium, and Hard math problems) required to dismiss active alarms.
- Snooze Control ("Snooze Jar"): Customizable daily snooze limits and counters designed to curb oversleeping.
- Location-Based Alarms & Geofencing: Arrival and departure triggers utilizing device GPS and map services.
- Habit & Streak Tracking: Consistency counters and snooze usage analytics.
- AlarmNest Pro & Ad Credits: Monetized premium features, including ad-free access via Google Play Billing and rewarded video advertisements for temporary location alarm credits.
3. Comprehensive Device Permission Disclosures
To deliver precise alarm timing, full-screen lock-screen notifications, and location-triggered alerts, AlarmNest requests specific Android permissions. By granting these permissions, you acknowledge and agree to their usage as disclosed below:
A. Alarm Scheduling & System Wake Permissions
Allows AlarmNest to set alarms that trigger at precise wall-clock times without being deferred by OS power saving or batching.
Ensures high-priority wake-up alarms ring at the exact second configured, even when your device enters Doze mode.
Displays active alarm alerts, countdown timer statuses, geofence alerts, and quick actions (Snooze / Dismiss).
Launches the full-screen alarm ringing window over the lock screen or active apps when an alarm triggers.
Keeps the device CPU active while an alarm is sounding to ensure uninterrupted audio playback and vibration.
Triggers custom haptic vibration patterns when alarms sound.
Listens for device restart signals to automatically restore and reschedule your active alarms and geofences.
Automatically illuminates your display when an alarm rings while the device screen is off.
Excludes AlarmNest from aggressive OEM battery savers so scheduled alarms are not silenced by system killers.
B. Foreground Service Permissions (Android 14+)
Runs active foreground tasks with status bar notifications to maintain system service integrity during alarms.
Plays looping audio sound streams reliably even when the app is minimized or the display is locked.
Supports continuous adaptive GPS tracking for location-triggered alarms when tracking mode is enabled.
C. Location & Geofencing Permissions Sensitive Data
Accesses network-based location for initial map positioning and general area selection.
Accesses precise GPS coordinates to detect exact arrival or departure at user-defined geofenced zones.
Allows location monitoring when the app is closed or backgrounded so location alarms trigger on arrival or departure.
Prominent Disclosure: Location Data Access, Collection & Use
AlarmNest accesses, collects, and processes device location data—including precise GPS location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION), approximate location (ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION), and background location (ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION).
- What Location Data is Collected: Real-time latitude/longitude coordinates, map pin coordinates, and geofence boundary radii configured by the user.
- Why Location Data is Needed (Purpose & Use): Location data is accessed and monitored—even when the app is closed, backgrounded, or not in active use—solely for the core function of detecting when your device enters or leaves your configured geofences (arrival/departure triggers) and sounding location-based alarms.
- Sharing & Data Privacy: Location data is never sold, rented, or shared with third-party ad networks, data brokers, or marketing entities. Coordinates are shared strictly with Google Maps SDK to render map interfaces and enable place searches.
- Local Storage: Geofence evaluation occurs locally on your device. Location logs are not transmitted to or stored on external servers.
- User Permission Control: Location permissions are opt-in. You may grant or revoke location permissions at any time via Android device settings (Settings → Apps → AlarmNest → Permissions → Location).
D. Monetization, Network & Billing Permissions
Enables secure purchases of AlarmNest Pro subscriptions and in-app feature unlocks via Google Play Store.
Required to fetch Google Maps & Places data, sync Google Sign-In credentials, verify Play billing, and serve AdMob ads.
Checks active Wi-Fi or cellular connections before initiating map searches or requesting ad units.
4. Crucial Disclaimer of Reliability & Limitation of Liability
AlarmNest is built to deliver maximum alarm delivery reliability. However, actual alarm performance depends on device hardware, operating system policies, OEM battery optimization settings (such as Samsung Device Care, Xiaomi MIUI Battery Saver, Don'tKillMyApp restrictions), Do Not Disturb (DND) configurations, depleted battery levels, or revoked permissions.
- User Responsibility for Configuration: You are solely responsible for ensuring that AlarmNest is granted necessary permissions, excluded from OS battery saver restrictions, and that device volume levels are adequate for waking you up.
- No Warranty for Critical Timelines: ALARMNEST IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. BITMASK LLP DOES NOT GUARANTEE THAT ALARM TRIGGERS WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, OR ERROR-FREE.
- Limitation of Liability: TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, BITMASK LLP, ITS DIRECTORS, AND EMPLOYEES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING MISSED APPOINTMENTS, FLIGHTS, TRAINS, WORK SHIFTS, MEDICATION SCHEDULES, OR FINANCIAL LOSSES) ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP OR ANY FAILED ALARM TRIGGER.
5. User Accounts & Google Sign-In
1. Optional Account Creation: You can use core features of AlarmNest anonymously without signing in. Firebase Google Sign-In is optionally provided to sync user settings and preferences across devices.
2. Account Security: You are responsible for protecting access to your Google account and device credentials used with the App.
6. Subscriptions, In-App Purchases & Rewarded Credits
1. AlarmNest Pro Subscriptions: AlarmNest offers premium subscription tiers ("Pro") giving users an ad-free experience and unlimited location alarms.
2. Billing & Auto-Renewal: All payments and subscriptions are processed exclusively via Google Play In-App Billing (com.android.vending.BILLING). Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours prior to the end of the billing period in Google Play Account Settings.
3. Refund Policy: All purchase transactions and refunds are governed directly by Google Play Store Refund Policies. BitMask LLP does not process direct payments or hold card details.
4. Rewarded Ad Credits: Free tier users may voluntarily watch video ads (via Google AdMob) to earn temporary location alarm credits. Credits have no cash value, are non-transferable, and cannot be refunded or exchanged for legal currency.
7. Third-Party Integrations & Content
AlarmNest integrates third-party SDKs and service providers:
- Google Maps SDK & Places API: Used for map display and location searches. Use is subject to the Google Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.
- Firebase Authentication: Manages optional Google Sign-In authentication.
- Google AdMob: Serves banner ads and rewarded video ad units.
- Google Play Services: Powers Play Billing, location providers, and system exact alarm APIs.
8. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Decompile, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of AlarmNest.
- Use automated bots, emulators, or scripts to manipulate ad impressions or simulate rewarded credit accumulation.
- Bypass or tamper with app licensing, subscription verification checks, or security features.
- Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose under applicable local or international laws.
9. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in AlarmNest—including app code, visual design, icons, audio ringtones, logos ("AlarmNest", "BitMask"), and documentation—are the exclusive property of BitMask LLP. Nothing in these Terms grants you ownership rights, only a personal, non-exclusive license to use the App on your Android device.
10. Modifications to Terms & App Updates
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Modified terms will be published on our website and within the App with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of AlarmNest following updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We may also issue app updates that adjust features or compatibility at our discretion.
11. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without giving effect to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the App shall be submitted exclusively to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in Maharashtra, India.
